About Me!

Philip Ginn is a writer who has been inspired by anything related to space and science since a young age. Whether it was dinosaur books, watching NOVA and the Cosmos series on PBS as a kid in the eighties, or just looking into the night sky, he has been captivated by the wonder of it all. He read his first sci-fi collection of short stories (which included Isaac Asimov’s Bicentennial Man) at the age of fourteen—some thirty-plus years ago— and since then, reading science fiction has been a lifelong source of that same wonder.

Philip’s goal as a writer is to capture that fascination in his stories and to make them accessible and inspiring to a wide audience, but especially young adults. He has written his stories with his daughter’s age group in mind. She is twenty-one, and when she visits, they enjoy watching cartoons (Avatar: The Last Airbender!), outdoor activities, and dueling light sabers.

In addition to reading, writing, and researching for his books, Philip’s other interests include skateboarding, snowskating, listening to punk-rock music, reading Astronomy Magazine, home canning, and walking his dog, Butters. His day job is welding and fabricating display stands for artifacts and art pieces for clients in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he lives with his lovely and supportive wife, Butters, and cat, Tiger Lily.
